Valley Center Municipal Water District serves mostly agriculture in the beautiful town of Valley Center, which is located northeast of Escondido in North San Diego County. Approximately 24,000 people live within the District. The District covers 100 square miles of which approximately 59% receives water services. The District provides a highly desirable, comprehensive employee benefits package. Post-offer physical, drug screening, background investigation and acceptable proof of right to work is required. The District is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Meter Services Technician I, II, or III. Incumbents are fully competent and are expected to perform the full range and the most complex duties related to meter reading, inspection, maintenance, testing, and repairing; backflow testing and inspecting and customer service related to water distribution. Incumbents may be lead workers and may serve as crew leader. May work a varied work week, different shifts, stands duty, and be able to respond to emergencies as necessary and may be required to work in wastewater facilities to include collection, distribution, and reclamation.

The District is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the temporary position of Maintenance and Utility Worker I. Incumbents with basic maintenance experience learn and perform a variety of tasks involved in the construction, operation, maintenance and repair of the District’s facilities, and a wide variety of practices and procedures such as grounds keeping, tree trimming, and janitorial work. Incumbent may be trained to perform more routine duties as necessary.
